Getting to Tallinn
There are direct flights to Tallinn from around 30 European cities including Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, Helsinki, London (Luton, Stansted), Milan Bergamo, Moscow, Munich, Oslo, Paris, Riga, Stockholm, St. Petersburg, Vienna, Warsaw, and Vilnius. Getting from the airport to town
The city is 4 kms from the airport and you can reach it by bus, tram or taxi.
Regular tram line No. 4 takes you from the airport to the stop “Hobujaama”. When you get off, across the street you should see Viru Centre (Viru Keskus) and Viru Hotel next to it. Travel time is about 20 minutes. Check the schedule of trams from Tallinn airport (Lennujaam) to Viru Hotel (Hobujaama). Single journey tickets can be bought in cash from the driver for €2. Public tram stop “Lennujaam” is located next to the terminal towards the city.
Regular bus line No. 2 takes you from the airport to the stop “A. Laikmaa”, which is centrally located about 50m from the conference venue (Sokos Viru Hotel). Check the schedule of buses from Tallinn airport (Lennujaam) to the city centre (A Laikmaa) and the schedule of buses from A. Laikmaa to Tallinn airport. Make sure you get off at the stop “A. Laikmaa” and then cross or go around Viru shopping centre to reach the hotel. The travel time is about 13 minutes in normal traffic conditions (count about 18-20 minutes in peak traffic). Single journey tickets can be bought in cash from the driver for €2. The bus departs from the airport’s lowest level, down the escalator from the arrivals hall.
The taxi fare from the airport to city centre can vary between 8 and 10 euros. There is a taxi rank at the exit of the airport (right in front of the exit from customs).
When taking a taxi from the city, do make sure that you check the fares before getting into the taxi (they are printed on the window) to avoid an excessive fare.
